‘Modern World’ has been founded by Lois and Toby Mead.
We deal in 20th century antiques with the capability to source period furniture for both residential and commercial environments.
Our emphasis is on rare, key statement pieces that, as a minimum, add to the overall required design of the home, however at their best, they lead and inform it in a unique way.
We have sought out the leading specialist restorers and makers to ensure each piece leaves Modern World in the condition that most suits that item. This can range from very little intervention to communicate the ‘life’ of the piece to occasionally a complete restoration. We will always detail the work undertaken in the individual description.
If required, the products for sale are available for viewing by arrangement – we understand these are investment pieces.
In tandem with the above, we own a Georgian property in West Sussex, which is available to use as a location for the purpose of both photographic and filming productions; each room is very much leaning towards mid-century modern design and more detail is included on the Shoot House page.
